He is a member of several national and international groups related to viral hepatitis and liver disease.

Dr Samir Shah is the head of the Department of Hepatology, Institute of Liver Diseases, HPB Surgery and Transplant at the Global Hospital, Mumbai, and visiting consultant to Jaslok Hospital and Research Centre and Breach Candy Hospital. He is a founder trustee and the Hon.Gen.
